Article #1 - Visa Extension

Dear Sechenovians,

Please take note that for the most of us, our visa will expire between the time frame of 26th August to 31st August 2009. Please take note of your visa expiry date, and do not come back to Moscow later than the given date. It is recommended to arrive at Moscow 3 days before the expiry date to avoid any immigration complications.

Upon arrival, please also remember to register yourself with the Dean's Office within the next 3 days (only working days are observed, excluding Saturday and Sunday).

Eg. If you arrive on the 28th of August (Friday), your 3 days will include Friday (28/08), Monday (31/8) and Tuesday (01/09).

FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN A FINE OF MORE THAN 2000 RUBLES.

However, the option of extending the expiry date your visa is available. Here are the steps to extend your visa expiry date.

1) Prepare the following items:
- 600 Rubles
- 4 Passport Size Photos
- Prikaz (Student Name List of your course. Highlight your name)
- Photocopy of Passport
- Photocopy of Visa
- Photocopy of Immigration Card (Make sure the immigration stamp is visible)
- Photocopy of Permit (Long horizontal slip of paper)

2) Approach the Visa Office in the Dean's Office on the 11th Floor, and notify the ladies in the Visa Office that you would like to extend your Visa expiry date up till 11th of November 2009.

3) Submit all prepared items including your passport and original copy of all above mentioned documents. Remember to obtain the Dean's Office stamp from the Dean's secretary (Ask for directions to Prof. Renad Alyautdin's office).

4) Your new Visa will be ready for collection in approximately 2 weeks.

For any further question please send an email to smsa.welfare@gmail.com to enquire. We will attend to the matter as soon as possible.
